The reptilarium "Alternatus Uruguay" is a unique place in the country with its doors opened all year round where you can meet live reptiles from Uruguay and other parts of the world, learn about their importance in the ecosystem, how they live, how they reproduce, how they are born, common myths, know our rescue center and more. You can get you photos with some of them and take a souvenir of your visit.

On your visit you can find a cobra from India, an anaconda, an alligator, iguanas, geckos and other lizards, large pythons, boas, yara, withers, musurana, false coral and many more species. In previous seasons we recieved more than 17000 visitors, being one of the busiest points of Piriápolis, declared of educational interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

We are located in the city park "La Cascada " General José Artigas Boulevard (Route 37 ) Km 1.400, Piriapolis.

We will be conducting educational talks by experts aimed at all age groups. School groups and public high school students will have free admission.
