Pittamiglio's castle

At Las Flores, on Route 71, is the castle of Humberto Pittamiglio (November 23 , 1887-September 28, 1966). It has an unique architecture which includes towers, passageways and medieval style facade and a large garden.

It was built in 1956 and after his death was held by the Municipality of Maldonado as the castle at Wilson boulevard by the Municipality of Montevideo . Since then its use has been limited to artistic performances, exhibitions of plays, as well as private meetings of political nature.

In 2012 it was reopened after a restoration by the Municipality of Maldonado with a budget of $ 200,000. The restoration included windows, interior walls, gardening and interior and exterior lighting.

The current visiting hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 to 15 hours.
